Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on Wednesday said that he was feeling nostalgic after his cabinet passed the much awaited anti-graft Jan Lokpal Bill.

He tweeted, “Feel nostalgic when i see this pic. We had burnt govt’s ‘jokepal’ at that time (sic)”

Along with the tweet, Kejriwal also posted a photo (above) of him burning the then UPA government’s version of Lokpal Bill.

Earlier today, Delhi cabinet passed the Jan Lokpal Bill, which was a big poll promise of Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party during this year’s assembly elections.

Announcing this, the city government’s deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia tweeted, ‘Jo Kaha So Kiya (Delivered what we promised)’

Since then, Kejriwal’s supporters have taken to twitter to flaunt the achievement of Delhi government. The hashtag #LokpalisHere was a top twitter trend on Wednesday evening.

In the new Bill, even the office of the chief minister and deputy chief minister will be brought under the ambit of the Lokpal. Additionally, all the complaints of graft will have to be disposed off in a timeliness manner.

The bill is likely to be presented in the winter session of the assembly.
