India’s One Day captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was recently granted Honorary Commission into 106 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Para Regiment.
Para Regiment, say some officers, is epitome to valour and sacrifice and also known to be one of the toughest in the world.
It was the die-hard attitude of Captain Cool, who voluntarily chose PARAS. But it was at the time of his Interview that he mentioned that he would like to go for parachute jumps course not only ‘toe earn his WINGS but also to rightfully be a part of the Para fraternity’ by qualifying to wear what’s known as maroon barret.
Dhoni is currently undergoing his ground for his jumps at Para training school in Agra and will be within days a qualified Paratrooper, thereby truly living to the para regiment motto “MAN APART EVERY MAN AN EMPEROR.”
