Exclusive: 3-month-old infant killed by his parents in Nadia, West Bengal; angst among locals

A 3-month-old infant was allegedly killed by his parents in Ranaghat area of West Bengal’s Nadia district on Thursday afternoon, in what is being suspected as a case of murder due to lack of funds to support the child.

The father, Babu Sil is a rickshaw puller in the local Dhantala area while his wife Sayamoli is a house-wife. Besides the 3-month old baby, the family had three more daughters living in the same house.

Police have so far not arrested the accused but have detained him and investigation into the matter has been started, a source told Jantakareporter.com

Meanwhile, the body of the infant has been sent to the local Ranaghat hospital for post-mortem.

Jantakareporter.com has exclusive visuals of the area in the aftermath of the incident where people are seen slapping the mother of the infant who was killed, accusing her of being extremely insensitive as someone who has herself given birth to the baby.
