Ex-servicemen in Jalandhar have now begun a three-day relay hunger strike demanding implementation of the ‘One Rank, One Pension'(OROP).

Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Balbir Singh, President ‘Ex-servicemen Welfare Association of Jalandhar Cantt, said, “The relay strike will begin from today and will end on July 1. It will be held 10 AM to 7 PM for the three days.”

He said by not fulfilling his promise on one rank one pension, the prime minister was hurting the sentiments of ex-servicemen.

He said some farmers will also be joining the protest and that the association will send a memorandum to the President to request his interference in the issue.
