Doctored sex CD is an insult to Gujarat’s women

Popular Patidar leader Hardik Patel has slammed the BJP for allegedly being behind the release of a sex CD, in which a man resembling him can be seen.

Terming it an insult to women of Gujarat, Patel said, “This is just the beginning of the dirty politics. You can defame me, it wouldn’t make any difference. You are only insulting the women of Gujarat. People are free to do whatever they want to defame me. Hardik is now growing up. I will find tooth an nail. Crores are being spent to assassinate my character.”

Patel found support from the equally popular Dalit leader in Gujarat, Jignesh Mevani, who said the alleged sex CD of Patel will not make people forget the ‘misrule’ of 22 years by BJP in the state.

He tweeted, “Do the fools really believe that the so called Sex CD of 22 year old will make the people of Gujarat forget the 22 years of BJP misrule.”

As predicted by him few days ago, a purported sex clip of Patel had surfaced on social media on Monday ahead of crucial Gujarat assembly polls.

The clip emerged in the afternoon when Patel was in a meeting with key members of the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) here to discuss the proposal given by the opposition Congress about how the party would grant reservation to Patels if voted to power, reported PTI.

Commenting on the sex clip purportedly showing him, the 24-year-old Patidar leader said it was the beginning of dirty politics and the BJP would release many more such “morphed” videos to defame him ahead of polls.

“Just few days back, I told the media that such CDs will be circulated. This is just the beginning of dirty politics. I am sure that BJP people would circulate some more CDs because the man who did it recently joined the party in Delhi. But I am not worried at all about such tactics,” Patel told reporters.

Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had reacted sharply to Patels accusation. “It is a shameful incident in public life. If the video clip is fake, Hardik Patel should approach police and file a complaint,” Mandaviya said.

Gujarat goes to polls in two stages on 9 and 14 December respectively. The BJP is facing growing resentment for its 22 years of governance. The latest opinion poll by ABP News had shows a considerable vote share reduction for the saffron party.
