Veteran Congress leader, Digvijay Singh has hit out at Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, on the issue of corruption.
Taking to Twitter, Singh, also one of Congress’ general secretaries, accused Jaitley of not allowing him to raise the corruption charges in Rajya Sabha against governments in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
His tweets said, “Arun Jaitley would like to discuss corruption by Congressmen in Parliament. Certainly yes but Mr Jaitley allow us to raise corruption issues of BJP in MP Chattisgarh Rajasthan Gujarat Jharkhand Maharshtra also.
“Why did you not allow me to raise the issue of corruption and nepotism in Surface Transport and Road Ministry against Gadkari? Even when I had given Notice as per Rajya Sabha rules in advance?”
Singh’s response came after Jaitley was quoted in media that he intended to place the evidences of corruption in parliament against “a sitting Congress Chief Minister and a former Congress CM” along with a few others.
Times of India quoted him as saying, “In each of those cases, which have come to surface, I am open to a debate in Parliament. If Congress wants, we can place before Parliament evidence against a sitting Congress CM, a former Congress CM and his family who is leading the campaign in Punjab, a family member of an important former Union minister, the National Herald case and AgustaWestland (Choppergate).”
