Delhi will play host to the renowned ghazal singer, Ghulam Ali on 8 November, says Delhi’s minister Kapil Mishra.
Mishra tweeted, “On 8th November, Delhi will host Ghulam Ali Saab. tum nafrat failate raho, ham bhaichaara badhaate rahenge. Tum Kaante bote raho, ham phool ugaate rahenge. ( You keep spreading hatred, we will keep spreading brotherhood. You continue to sow nettles, we will continue to grow flowers.)”
Speaking to jantakareporter.com, Ali had announced he was accepting the invite from the Delhi government.
He had said, ” I heard in the news that Kejriwal sahab’s government had invited me to perform in Delhi. I’m truly grateful for the love shown to me. I had met him once in the past and found him to be an honest man, who cared about his people. Unka jab bhi hukm hoga main haazir ho jaaonga.”
Later, Delhi’s culture minister, Kapil Mishra met him to formally extend the invitation before announcing that the legendary singer had agreed to perform in Delhi in December.
Ali had told jantakareporter.com about his pre-scheduled event in Delhi on 8 November organised by a Hindi newspaper.
He had said, “music doesn’t have religion. As artists we unite people through music. We only distribute love. My only pain is that I couldn’t pay tribute to Jagjit sahab. But may be the show got cancelled for a reason. I’m coming back to Delhi to perform in a show organised by a newspaper next month.”
