Delhi police van tried to kill Dilip Pandey, claims AAP

Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi in-charge, Dilip Pandey, on Tuesday night claimed that a Delhi Police van had attempted to kill him by running him over while he was talking to media persons outside Rajendra Nagar police station in the capital.

He said that he was utterly shocked that the police was trying to eliminate him adding that he was luckily pushed away by volunteers just in time.

When contacted, Pandey told, ” I’m safe, God is great.”

Pandey said he was briefing mediapersons outside the police station when all of a sudden a van came towards him.

He tweeted, “Shocked to see sad state of Delhi Police. A police bus tried to run over – kill me from behind while I was talking to media. Someone pushed-saved me!”

His party colleague and spokesperson, Raghav Chadha tweeted, “”Just had a word with @dilipkpandey. Shocking to know that Delhi Police is now trying to eliminate us.”

The police, for its part, reportedly clarified that the van had accidentally moved towards Pandey because of the break failure. AAP quickly rejected this justification.

Earlier, Manish Sisodia, Delhi’s deputy chief minister, had claimed that the police was refusing to lodge an FIR against the two DDA officials.

The relation between the AAP and Delhi police has deteriorated considerably in recent times after the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal publicly criticised police’s ‘incompetency’ in the murder of a 19-year-old Meenakshi, who brutally killed by stabbing 35 times.

After meeting the family, Kejriwal had attacked the PM while renewing his demands for the full statehood for Delhi.
