In the leaked CCTV footage from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, Tyagi was seen escorting Prakash out. Delhi Police have already arrested two AAP MLAs, Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal in the same case. Both Khan and Jarwal are currently in jail as part of the 14-day judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court on Thursday sought a response from the city police on a bail plea filed by Jarwal. Justice Mukta Gupta issued the notice to the Delhi Police and directed them to file a status report in the matter by 7 March, reported PTI.

Jarwal had approached the high court on Wednesday after a sessions court denied him bail, saying that he had “openly violated the dignity” of a 56-year-old public servant. Senior advocate Rebecca M John, appearing for the MLA, told the court that the investigation in the matter was over and no further custody was required.

“The learned Session judge has failed to appreciate that the FIR was registered at 1 PM next day which constituted substantial delay given the fact that complainant (Prakash)himself is at a powerful position with direct access to the highest officials of the Delhi Police. Therefore, the FIR is a clear afterthought and motivated to falsely implicate the petitioner and others,” John was quoted by PTI.

In a separate development, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved the verdict in a case related to the disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs. The court will now pronounce its order on 22 March. The case is related to the disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs by the Election Commission of India for allegedly holding the office of profits.
