The Delhi Police has asked DCP East Delhi to take ‘necessary action’ against the city’s deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia, after a BJP leader shared the latter’s photos without a mask at a public gathering.
BJP leader Khemchand Sharma took to Twitter to draw the attention of LG Delhi and the Delhi Police to the COVID-19 rule violations by Sisodia. He wrote, “@LtGovDelhi ji & @DelhiPolice, Delhi’s DCM @msisodia was present at an engagement ceremony in East Delhi’s Sukh Vihar Community Centre without wearing a mask. There were more than 50 people present there. Kindly penalise the DCM for violating COVID-19 rules thereby sending an appropriate message to the ordinary public.”

On Tuesday, the Delhi unit of the BJP had launched a tirade against AAP supremo and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for hypocrisy by sharing a series of photos of Sisodia attending a wedding function without wearing a face mask. According to the BJP, the photos of Sisodia were taken on Monday (23 November).
Last week, Kejriwal had announced that those caught without a mask would be fined Rs. 2,000. This was a steep hike from the earlier fine of Rs. 500 for the same violation.
