Delhi Police officer, who ordered removal of army veterans from Jantar Mantar transferred with 35 others

Delhi Police on Friday ordered transfer of 35 of its senior officers including the officer, who was responsible for ordering the removal of army veterans protesting at Jantar Mantar over One Rank One Pension on the eve of Independence Day.

Those who’ve been include are DCP New Delhi and DCP Special Cell.

According to reports, it was the DCP, New Delhi, Vijay Singh, who had ordered the removal of army veterans who were protesting at Jantar Mantar demanding OROP. Singh has now been transferred to North-West Delhi.

Another DCP rank officer tranferred is the DCP Special Cell, Sanjeev Yadav. It was on his watch that a Kashmiri man called Liaqat Shah was arrested, but the charges framed against him were later proved to be false.

Additional DCP, Pramod Khushwaha, who wasleading the investigations into the suspected murder of Sunanda Pushkar, the wife of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, has now been promoted to take charge as DCP Special Cell.
