Aam Aaadmi Party leader and the Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that something ‘must be done to prevent’ more deaths in Vyapam scam.

His tweet read, “Vyapam scam n all deaths so far ought to be thoroughly investigated. Guilty must be punished. Something MUST be done to prevent more deaths.”

In one of his previous tweets, he had said, “the truth of Vyapam ought to be unearthed.”

Two high profile deaths have taken place, both in very mysterious circumstances. Aajtak journalist Akshay Singh was died in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, while the dean of Jabalpur’s NS Medical college was found dead from his hotel in Delhi on Sunday.

Akshay, an investigative journalist, was in MP to report on Vyapam and the dean Dr Arun Sharma too was probing the scam.

Both these deaths have led to national outrage with opposition parties criticising MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan for his inept handling of the situation.

The Vyapam Scam involved the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board, which holds exams for positions like medical officers, constables, teachers and auditors for government departments. The candidates allegedly bribed government officials to ensure that they made it to the list of those who cleared the test.

With this death, the number of people found dead related to Vyapam scam has gone up to 47. Only yesterday, an Aajtak journalist Akshay Singh, who had gone to MP to investigate Vyapam, was found dead.
