Forensic experts conducted on Wednesday night the postmortem of the body of ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal whose alleged suicide over the OROP issue on Wedenesday snowballed into a huge political show with Rahul Gandhi, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and other opposition leaders attacking the Modi government on the issue. The body was sent to Lady Hardinge Hospital early Wednesday morning from RML Hospital where he had died after being rushed there on Tuesday. He had allegedly consumed poison on the lawns of a government building in the heart of the national capital.
“The postmortem began at around 9:30 pm and the report is currently hospital,” a hospital source told media. The suicide by the army veteran over OROP on Wednesday snowballed into a huge political show with Rahul Gandhi, Kejriwal and other opposition leaders attacking the Modi government on the issue while there was high drama after police detained and prevented them from entering a hospital.
The Congress Vice President was detained twice and was finally released late in the evening as restrictions were put on Kejriwal’s movements before he was briefly detained. Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was kept in custody for close to 10 hours.
