Black money hoarders left with no option but bandhs: Kiren Rijiju


No strikes and bandhs against demonetisation can succeed as people everywhere in the country are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his battle against black money, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said.

“Those whose black money was turned into trash are left with no option but to talk about bandhs. They should realise no bandhs against the move (demonetisation) can succeed.

Nothing can come to a close in the country now, except black money. The country stands with the Prime Minister in this battle. So, the bandh failed,” Rijiju told reporters in Mussoorie.

He said even in Mussoorie people are strongly in support of the central government’s move.

Accusing the Centre of being “anti-poor”, non-BJP parties yesterday hit the streets across the country to protest against scrapping of high currency notes.

The Union Minister of state for Home, who was here to attend a programme at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, asked officials to work with total dedication in national interest.

He said there is nothing to worry about the country’s security on the borders as soldiers are guarding the frontiers and the government knows well what it should do.
