Police in Delhi have launched a massive manhunt for a man, who choked his wife to death by stuffing a strong adhesive, used for sticking broken items, in her mouth, nose and eyes on Friday.
Police said that the 35-year-old woman, identified as Durga Bai, was killed at her residence in Rajput Colony.
“The victim, Durga Bai, suffocated to death after her husband Halkeram Kushwaha stuffed a strong adhesive, used for sticking broken items, in her mouth, nose and eyes,” Kotwali police station inspector R N Sharmawas quoted as saying.
According one of his sons, who alerted the cops about the murder, he and his brother were asked to leave the house by his father before he murdered his mother using the glue.
One of Kushwaha’s minor sons found his mother motionless when he returned home on Friday evening. “The 15-year-old boy lodged a police complaint, following which Halkeram was booked for murder and a search was launched to nab him,” Sharma was quoted by PTI.
The accused, according to his son, was alcoholic and often fought with his wife. Kushwaha had even allegedly tried to poison the deceased in the past. In a similar case reported in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh in May 2016, a woman had allegedly used the same adhesive on her drunkard husband’s eyes while he was asleep.
Delhi was recently in news after 11 members of a same family committed mass suicide in the capital’s Burari area. Police investigating the mass suicide had said that the family may have suffered from hallucination.
