AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya granted bail by Delhi court


A Delhi court on on Wednesday granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party’s MLA, Dinesh Mohaniya.

The AAP MLA from Sangam Vihar was arrested last week by Delhi Police on charges of molesting a woman.

The video and images of cops unceremoniously dragging the MLA out of his office just when he addressed media had gone viral.

The Saket court on Monday had rejected his bail plea and sent him to 14-day judicial custody. He was being kept in Tihar Jail.

His arrest was widely criticised by constitutional experts. Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Markandey Katju too had questioned the rationale behind the arrest. 

Mohaniya was the eighth AAP MLA to be arrested by Delhi Police since Arvind Kejriwal formed government in the national capital in February last year.
