Delhi High Court has directed the BJP-MCD in the capital to give salaries of their sanitation workers for the month of March within a week.

The court also directed the MCD to ensure that its employees are paid within the first week of every month.

According to ANI, the court also directed Delhi government to calculate the payable amount under Municipal Reform Fund to all three arms of MCD within a month.

Next date of hearing is May 2.

The MCD sanitation workers had gone on strike earlier this year complaining of non-payment of salaries.

Delhi government, for its part, had maintained its stand of having released the required fund for the payment of their salaries accusing the BJP of gross misappropriation of funds.

Reacting to today’s development, the Delhi government said that it had completed ‘exposed’ the saffron party.

Its media adviser, Nagender Sharma, said, “Delhi High Court verdict a slap on the face of BJP-ruled MCDs – directed to pay employees salaries within a week and before 7th every month. Del HC verdict on MCD employees salary totally exposes false propaganda by BJP and other parties against Delhi government. truth is out!”
