Indian intelligence agencies claim they have got their possession what they say are a recent picture of 1993 blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim in Karachi and other documentary proof, establishing the age-old belief that the underworld don had been staying in Pakistan, according to a report published in the Hindustan Times.
According to the photo, Dawood, now 59 years old, is clean-shaven and has receding hairline.
Dawood is accused of plotting the serial blasts in Mumbai on March 12, 1993 that killed 257 people. Another accused, Yakub Memon, was hanged on 30 July.
According to the report, Dawood, his wife, son and two daughters are said to be residing in Pakistan’s business capital, Karachi. The paper has also produced copies of what Indian agencies claim Dawood’s passports and a telephone bill in the name of hiss wife Mehjabeen Sheikh.
While Mehjabeen’s telephone bill has D-13, Block-4, Karachi Development Authority, Sch-5, Clifton, as the installation address, Dawood is also reported to have three known Pakistani passports and has two more residential addresses (6A, Khayaban Tanzeem, Phase 5, Defence Housing Area and Moin Palace, II floor, Near Abdullah Shah Ghazi Dargah, Clifton) in Karachi.
According to reports, Dawood’s other associates such as Jabir Saddiq, Jawaid Chotani and Mumbai blasts accused Javed Patel a.k.a Chikna are also based in Pakistan and are frequent visitors to Dubai.
There are flight details reportedly show that Siddiq travelled to Dubai from Karachi on July 20, 2015 and returned four days later.
Chotani too is reported to have travelled frequently between Karachi and Dubai during the March-June period.
Javed Chikna, the man who along with Tiger Memon allegedly planned the 1993 Mumbai blasts, is also accused of being involved in Hawala activities.
