Ranvijay Singh, a senior police officer in Greater Noida, was quoted by news agency ANI as saying, “We saw the video yesterday and then investigation was initiated. The victim was identified and called to the police station for all the details.”
The video has evoked angry reactions from Twitterati. Actor Urmila Matondkar, who contested this year’s Lok Sabha polls unsuccessfully on a Congress ticket, tweeted, “Frightening! You cannot be an Indian if this doesn’t make you sick. This is not our culture and this is definitely not Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas (a slogan coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi).”
