Controversy over Yeddyurappa’s 1-crore car, says his sugar baron friend wants him to travel in good car

Earlier, it was Karnataka chief minister K Siddaramaiah’s Rs. 70-lakh watch which caused a huge controversy.

Now it’s the newly appointed BJP state chief BS Yeddyurappa’s ride with Rs 1-crore car which is creating a buzz.

BJP spokesperson in Karnataka S Prakash justified Yeddyurappa travelling in Rs 1-crore Land Crusier saying that the white luxury car had been “loaned” to the BJP chief by a sugar baron and politician Murugesh Nirani to tour the state.

Justifying his travel in the luxury car, Yeddyurappa told ANI, “Murugesh Nirani gave me this car for party work. After that, he will take back the car. I am going around in the state, so a good car is required, that’s what he told me. When I go to other districts, I’ll use their car. I am not going to take this car there.”

BJP had created issue on the Hublot watch Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had received from someone as a gift. Siddaramaiah was forced to hand over the watch to the Assembly Speaker.

According to NDTV, Yeddyurappa said that he had been tasked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah to wrest the state back from the Congress in the 2018 assembly elections. He has set the Karnataka BJP a target of winning 150 of the states 225 assembly seats in that election.

Corruption-tainted Yeddyurappa was recently appointed as the state BJP chief.
