In a shocking development, a constable killed another cop with a self-loading rifle during the early hours of Thursday morning in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district.
Muzaffarpur SSP Manoj Kumar told news agency ANI that Constable Manish Kumar was killed by another constable Prem Chand Prasad with a self-loading rifle (SLR) at around 1:30 am this morning in Amarpur. “Accused has had a history of indiscipline and aggressive behaviour and has been arrested,” he was quoted as saying.
Muzaffarpur has been in news recently for all kinds of wrong reasons with the most notable among them being the incident of gangrape and alleged murder at a government-run shelter home.
The CBI is currently investigating the matter. The Supreme Court had recently admonished the state’s Nitish Kumar government for protecting one of its ex-ministers, Manju Verma, whose husband is a key accused in the case.
