Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday said that he was confident about Prime Minister Narendra Modi bringing back black money to India.
Speaking to news agency PTI in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, Ramdev said, “The issue of black money was raised by me and I am confident that PM would take a positive step for bringing the black
money even though he has enough time for this.”
The yoga guru had launched huge campaign on black money against the Congress-led UPA government and campaigned for the BJP in last year’s Lok Sabha elections.
He, however, faced criticism after the central government’s failure to make any significant progress on this issue more than 15 months after assuming power at the centre.
PM Modi, in several of his election speeches had said that every Indian would get Rs 15-20 lakh in their bank accounts if the illegal money stashed in foreign banks was brought back to the country.
The BJP president later told that it was just an ‘election jumla’ implying that the PM had only said that to impress voters because of the elections.
Speaking on Bihar assembly elections, Ramdev said that Bihar polls would decide future of country’s politics.
“The Central government and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar should show the work done by them for backward and Dalits of the state so that voters there can decide whom to vote,” Ramdev said, adding that he would not go to Bihar for campaigning.
Lashing out at Congress, the yoga guru said that the Opposition party’s protest on Land Acquisition Bill and GST bill was unfortunate.
