Chilling video of bank robbery in India's national capital, cashier shot dead


A chilling video of bank robbery in Delhi, where a group of masked robbers looted more than Rs 3 lakh while shooting the cashier dead has gone viral. The shocking incident took place at corporation bank in south west Delhi’s Chhawla town on Friday.

In the video, the robbers are seen entering the bank and snatching the security guard’s rifle before carrying out the robbery. They are also seen threatening a few men, understood to be customers, before herding them to a corner by constantly pointing pistols at them.
Before fleeing from the spot, the armed robbers shot dead the bank’s cashier, identified as Santosh. He was later rushed to a private hospital but succumbed to his bullet injuries. According to reports, the robbers fired two rounds at him when he resisted their robbery attempts. Santosh was reportedly a native of Gaya in Bihar and had previously served in the Indian Air Force.
A report by Times of India said that two men had first performed the recce before they were joined by four more people to pull off the robbery.
Police said that they had identified the robbers with the help of the CCTV footage. The search is underway to arrest them.

Police have formed at least 20 teams, who are raiding several locations in Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh, Gurgaon and other areas around the Delhi-Haryana border. This is the first bank robbery in Delhi in a decade.
The robbers, all six of them, fled on motorcycles, police was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
