Aaam Aadmi Party led government on Wednesday announced that it will launch a special initiative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet scheme Swacch Bharaton 22 November to clean up Delhi’s garbage.

After his meeting with the Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu in Delhi on Wednesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, told reporters that he had also invited the former to join the campaign next month.

Kejriwal told reporters, “I had met Chandrababu Naidu ji few years back during Anna movement. He had extended all his help that time also.  Today, I met him to express my complete support for the Swacch Bharat campaign. Shri Chandrababu Naiduji is the chairperson of the committee, which is working on the Swacch Bharat campaign from Niti Ayog. I’m a member of the committee but I could not make it previous meetings due to my other preoccupations. On 22 November in Delhi, we are doing a big exercise to clean up Delhi in two days to remove all the garbage from across the capital under Swacch Bharat campaign. I will be very happy if Naiduji can join us then.”

He said, ‘Today we are giving the report on Swacch Bharat to the honourable Prime Minister. Kejriwalji has extended all his support for implementation of Swacch Bharat report. I thank him and have invited him to foundation laying ceremony in Hyderabad on 22 October. He has positively responded and will be coming there. All of us have to work for the country Swacch Bharat is one above politics. We have to work together.”

Kehriwal said he had accepted Naidu’s invitation and will be travelling to Andhra Pradesh on 22 October for foundation laying function.
