Chhattisgarh tape: ‘Why shouldn’t both Raman Singh & Ajit Jogi be arrested for fixing bypoll’


The revelations that financial dealings may have taken place between the Chattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh and his political rival, Congress’ Ajit Jogi to ensure the BJP candidate’s victory in an assembly by-polls have caused huge twitter backlash.

Social media users on the micro-blogging site are demanding the immediate arrests of both Ajit Jogi and Raman Singh.

According to the audio tape, both Jogi and his son Amit are heard speaking to the chief minister’s son-in-law, Puneet Gupta allegedly to strike a deal worth Rs 10 crore in exchange of Congress candidate pulling out of the election to ensure BJP’s victory.

Congress candidate, Manturam Pawar, had withdrawn his candidature just one day before the last date of filing of the nomination. Pawar later joined the BJP.
