Kota: In a shocking development, Rajasthan’s ruling BJP MLA Chandra Kanta Meghwal’s husband Narendra Meghwal allegedly thrashed a police official over issuing a challan for the vehicle of a party worker.
According to PTI, the SHO of Mahaveernagar Police Station Ram Basaida said a police personnel was allegedly manhandled and thrashed, but denied reports of detention of the MLA and other BJP leaders.
DSP Cunaram Jat said a meeting, involving senior police officials, the MLA concerned, MP OM Birla, other BJP leaders, is underway to resolve the issue.
A Times of India report said that Narendra Meghwal, husband of Ramganj Mandi MLA Chandra Kanta Meghwal reportedly slapped a circle inspector during a protest by members of Bhartiya Janta Party Yuva Morcha, who had an altercation with cops present.
This reportedly prompted police officials to use force in order to disperse the angry mob.
The same evening, Chandrakanta announced that she would march towards Mahaveer Nagar police station to protest against the incident.
