Police in Madhya Pradesh have booked a man for sharing a morphed photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is shown wearing a skull cap.
The morphed photo was allegedly shared by one Facebook user whose profile name is Balmukund Singh Gautam. In the photo, Modi was seen wearing a skull cap while attending a function, organised by Dawoodi Bohra community on 14 September.
Modi stayed at the event, also organised in Indore, for more an hour and did not wear the skull cap in reality.
According to a report by PTI, Palasia Police Station in-charge Ajit Singh Bais said on Friday that an FIR had been registered under IPC section 505 (2) (public mischief) and sections of the Information Technology Act on the complaint of local BJP leader Shankar Lalwani.
Cyber Cell of the police is also trying to find out the identity of the user running the Facebook profile in question.
Modi on 14 September had attended the programme of the Dawoodi Bohra community, at Saifi Mosque in Indore.
