The war word words between the BJP and the Congress took an ugly turn after the BJP attacked Divya Spandana with ‘Rahul Gandhi’s ‘love’ jibe. This was after Spandana, also known as Ramya, took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the ‘bird’s dropping’ dig.
Posting a photo of Modi at the feet of the newly erected statue of Sardar Patel, Spandana had tweeted, “Is that bird dropping?”

Spandana came for criticism even from the liberal journalists, who found her tweet in poor taste.

First you ruin further the taste of our already rotten political discourse, then you insult our collective intelligence by claiming you’re referring to something else. This isn’t politics. How does this square with Rahul’s embrace of Modi with a pretense/promise of decency? https://t.co/ZpYF6YXzfk

What a distasteful tweet. https://t.co/mfkn5tjnwG

Hours later, BJP’s official Twitter handle responded targeting the Congress social media chief with Rahul Gandhi’s ‘love’ jibe. It wrote, “Ummm no, it is the values of the Congress that are dropping. Historical disdain for Sardar Patel + Pathological dislike for @narendramodi = Such language. Clearly, @RahulGandhi’s politics of ‘love’!”

As expected many social media users were quick to condemn the saffron party for its glaring sexism against Spandana.
