The opposition Congress launched yet another scathing attack on the BJP on the Lalit Modi row , saying the party had launched a ‘Lalit Kala Academy’ to train its spokespersons as they defend senior party leaders from the ongoing Lalit Modi controversy.
“BJP has established an institute to train spokespersons to defend Lalit Modi. It is called Lalit Kala Academy,” Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan said in New Delhi today.
The comment has come a day after BJP MP and former Home Secretary RK Singh broke ranks with his party by calling Modi a “bhagoda” (fugitive) and said defending him is “morally and legally wrong”.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has been in the eye of storm after it was revealed that she had allegedly committed an act of conflict of interest by requesting the British authorities to issue travel documents to Modi, who was wanted by the Enforcement Directorate in multi-crore scandal. On the other hand, Vasundhara Raje too has been named in one of the documents released by Lalit Modi’s lawyer which stated that Raje supported Lalit Modi’s immigration application as “secret witness”.
