BJP’s efforts to strengthen its organisation in Bengal received a severe jolt on Monday after its Rajya Sabha MP and actor, Roopa Ganguly, launched a tirade against her own state party chief, Dilip Ghosh, accusing him of yelling at her and using abusive language.
She took to Twitter to allege that Ghosh had abused and screamed at her ‘in public.’ Her tweet read, “I can message modi ji.. but i am barred from messaging you dilip da.. i can speak to amit bhaisahab .. but you sream at me in public with abusive language.. i always kept quiet because my father taught me to be obedient to the seniors.. you taunted me humiliated me in public ..(sic)”
Ganguly has now deleted the controversial tweet. The actor-turned-politician had also alleged in another tweet that she was being blocked from posting any messages in the party’s official messaging group in West Bengal.
While replying to Ghosh, Ganguly had earlier tweeted, “Who is your media in charge in bengal dilip da.. kindly let me know. And kindly ask him/her to call me tomorrow morning around 10 am.. nobody replies at the core committee msg group.. couldnt message you either.. its blocked as well”

The latest episode of ugly fight by two senior functionaries of the BJP in Bengal doesn’t auger well for the party’s ability to spread its wings in the state. The saffron party had recently poached a senior Trinamool functionary, Mukul Roy, to boost its campaign in the state. However, the party had to suffer a humiliating defeats in two bypolls held recently.
