AAP leader Upkar Singh Sandhu who unsuccessfully contested for Amritsar Lok Sabha seat by-poll, today opposed the decision of the party high command which appointed Bhagwant Mann as state unit chief.
Talking to media persons here today, Sandhu strongly condemned the party high command’s move for appointing Mann as the state president by saying that it would give birth to conflict among the volunteers across the state.
He said that such move would diminish the party roots in the state.
Sandhu said that AAP high command should consider appointing Sukhpal Singh Khaira as party’s state chief who could bring all the volunteers at one platform, besides strengthening the party at grass roots level.
Yesterday, in a meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP had appointed Mann as the convener and party MLA from Sunam, Aman Arora as the co-convener.
