Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will on Thursday announce his government’s plan to introduce the second phase of odd-even formula in Delhi.

This came after Delhi government on Monday announced that it will launch a massive ad campaign from Tuesday seeking suggestions from people on whether the odd-even formula for cars should be brought back.

Addressing a news conference, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that his government was going to ask people of Delhi to send their ideas via email to oddevenidea@gmail.com.

He said, “Suggestions will be sought based on certain questions. Questions will include if they would want odd-even scheme again. if yes, then when they would want it started. 14 Feb, 1 March, 1 April, 1 May. Third question is about the duration. Should it be for 15 days, one month, fifteen days every month or it should be made a permanent feature?”

Delhi government had launched odd-even formula for cars between 1 January and 15 January earlier this month to curb the rising air pollution. While there hasn’t been any conclusive evidence of its impact on bringing down the air quality, the scheme had considerably improved the traffic movements in the city.
