According to reports, the fight was allegedly initiated by the BJP civic body members as they objected to AAP councillors wearing party caps at the event in Delhi’s Ramlila Ground.

The councillors were meeting at the MCD’s joint session in Delhi on Thursday.

The meeting by all three BJP-run civic bodies in Delhi was first of its kind to discuss the issues they were facing with regards to Delhi government.

The decision to organise a joint session of MCDs in Delhi came in response to Delhi government’s plan to hold special assembly session on Thursday to discuss the corruption and mismanagement in MCDs.
