Union finance minister Arun Jaitley has category stated that Lalit Modi was not an important issue for Narendra Modi led government at the centre.
He told reporters in Delhi, ” Some people may be of relevance to TV channels. They are of no relevance to governance.”
The opposition parties have been demanding the resignations of foreign ministers Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje and her son Dushyant Singh for their alleged actions of impropriety in relation with the former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi.
The government so far has resisted any such demands saying that these leaders had committed anything wrong.
