Ravi Shankar, the founder of Art of Living, had previously, refused to pay the fine inviting criticism for considering himself above the law.
A contempt application against him will be heard by the NGT on 2 August.
This was after the National Green Tribunal last week ordered the Art of Living to pay the remaining Rs 4.75 crore fine for damaging the floodplains of Yamuna while hosting the World Culture Festival in February this year.
The vacation of Justice Swatantra Kumar had issued the order while rejecting the AOL’s appeal requesting to constitute a fresh panel to inspect the site on Yamuna banks, where the World Culture Festival was held.
The AOL was ordered to pay the fine by Saturday to Delhi Development Authority.
