Taking to Twitter, Anushka said, “It is SHOCKING to see a completely fabricated interview of mine in a reputed publication like @Ei_Samay. This is to clarify that I have NEVER done an interview on my personal life with them or with anyone else. Just shows how carelessly your personal freedom is looked at by them.”

Ei Samay, a Bengali publication, had carried what it claimed was its interview with Anushka. Among other things the paper had quoted Anushka as saying, “I never miss a few beauty regimes. It’s better to not call it a beauty regime. It’s better to call it healthy regime. But I follow vegan diet. I don’t eat, meat, fish, milk or paneer. And whenever I have a strict shooting schedule, I make sure that I don’t miss my gym… Only dieting is not enough, one has to do workouts too.”

Her fans were quick to slam the newspaper for the ‘fake’ interview. User Prashant wrote, “Shame on you..!! Cooking up stories just out of thin air.. no respect for privacy..??
now have some decency to apologise..!! (sic)” Another user Kaptan Fearless concluded, “Ye log politicians se bhi jyada dangerous hai.”

Ei Samay is the Bengali newspaper, published by Times of India group.

Anushka was last seen in the Bollywood horror movie, Pari, which did not do well at the Box Office. She got married to Kohli in Italy in December last year.
