Actor Anupam Kher has been a fierce critic of the Congress party has often cheered for the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
His wife, Kirron Kher too is an elected MP on BJP ticket.
But that hasn’t stopped the makers of film on former prime minister, Dr Manmohan Singh’s life, from casting Kher as the ‘accidental prime minister.’
Kher is set to play Manmohan Singh in the movie based on the book “The Accidental Prime Minister” written by the former prime minister’s media adviser Sanjay Baru.
The 62-year-old actor told PTI that he was essaying the role of Singh in the film to be directed by debutante Vijay Ratnakar Gutte.
National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta is working on the screenplay.
“Yes, I am writing it,” Mehta said.
The makers will be releasing the first look of the film tomorrow.
This dominated the social media conversations all throughout Tuesday as many felt that Kher in Manmohan Singh’s role was no accidental casting.
