On Thursday we reported how the veteran actor and Bollywood star of yesteryear, Vinod Khanna was battling a serious disease. The photo of an incredibly weak Khanna had gone viral with fans wishing him a speedy recovery.
However, by the evening, rumours gripped the social media users that the actor-turned-BJP MP had left all of us.
This was after his son Rahul refuted media reports that his father was suffering from bladder cancer.
In a statement, Rahul had said, ” Dad was hospitalised on Friday for severe dehydration. The situation was quickly brought under control, he’s doing much better and the doctors are looking to discharge him soon. Our family is most grateful for the extraordinary care he’s been receiving at the hospital and we are touched by all the good wishes pouring in.”
Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, where Khanna was admitted, too said that the actor’s health was now stable.
However, Amitabh Bachchan’s cryptic tweet posted in the early hours of Friday suggested that all was not well with Khanna.
His tweet said, “Strange is it not, that the passing of the near and dear and colleagues, coerces one to start questioning one’s own longevity!”

She wrote, “RIP: Vinod Khanna (70).”
However, quoting a close family source, DNA has reported that the rumours of his death were untrue
