All 23 British trekkers rescued from Leh

A group of 23 British citizens comprising of one male (group leader) one female teacher, 21 female students and 08 local guides and cooks were trapped due to flash floods in between Markha-Sko areas of Police Station Leh on 5 August.

The group had gone for trekking on 2 August 2015.

After receiving the information, a police party from Police Station Leh headed by HC Muhammad Isa and a team of SDRF, supervised by SP Leh Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS started a rescue operation. The police party reached the spot with ration after 12 hours of journey by foot. The group was safely rescued with the help of helicopter and was shifted to Moonline Guest House in Leh.
