AAP government’s new posters feature tribute to former President Kalam

The Delhi government on Wednesday put up posters of late former President APJ Abdul Kalam along with his inspirational quotes as a tribute.

The new posters which have been put outside the Delhi Secretariat mention former President Kalam’s famous quote “Dream is not the thing you see in sleep, but is that thing that doesn’t let you sleep.”

Dr. Kalam, who is fondly remembered as the ‘Missile Man of India’ was one of India’s and world’s most respected nuclear scientists. He passed away aged 83 on Monday evening after collapsing while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong.

Interestingly, the move installing new posters comes a day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government decided to withdraw an aggressive ad campaign targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to allow the Delhi government to function.

“Prime Minister Sir, Please, let Delhi government work,” read Delhi government previous posters.

On Thursday, the Arvind Kejriwal government had also been censured by the Delhi High Court which said its mega advertising campaign was a public waste of money.

The judges had also asked the Delhi government to explain how much it had spent on ads that were running frequently on radio and television.
