After reaching Kadamwak Wasti, the driver of the car lost control because of the high speed. Their vehicle first hit a divider before ramming into a truck after landing on the other side of the highway. The impact of the accident was such that eight out of nine occupants of the car died on the spot.
The car had passed through a nearby toll plaza minutes before the tragic incident. Staff working at the toll booth also confirmed that the driver of the car was overspeeding.
