Arun Jaitley to file civil and criminal defamation against Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leaders

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who is facing the heat for his alleged involvement in corruption and financial irregularities in DDCA, has announced he will file civil and criminal defamation cases against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders.

Besides Kejriwal, Jaitley would file defamation cases against Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha, Deepak Vajpayee, reported the news agency ANI.

This announcement comes hours after the  Delhi government decided to constitute a commission of enquiry headed by Gopal Subramaniam to probe the alleged corruption in the DDCA.

Kejriwal had written to Subramaniam for his consent to head the enquiry commission, which he readily accepted.

Finance Minister Jaitley has been accused of corruption by the Delhi Government and former players including Kirti Azad and Bishan Singh Bedi during his tenure as president of DDCA till 2013.

On Sunday afternoon at a packed press conference at Delhi’s Press Club, Azad had released a video of DDCA AGM held in December 2012, where Jaitley is heard involved in heated war of words.

At one point, Azad accused Jaitley of forging documents challenging the Union Finance Minister of filing a defamation against him.
