30 passengers travelling in two buses feared killed in Himachal landslide


30 passengers are feared dead after the bus they were travelling in two buses came under massive landslide in Himachal Pradesh, reported PTI.

A report by news agency IANS said that the landslide occurred around midnight on the Mandi-Pathankot national highway burying two Himachal Road Transport Corporation buses. A search and rescue operation is on involving local authorities and the Indian Army. The National Disaster Response Force has been summoned.

Sandeep Kadam, Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, told news agency ANI: “Three vehicles were stranded after the landslide. A bus had also rolled down to nearly 800 m from the National Highway and four people have been rescued from the debris.”

GS Bali, wrote on Facebook, “Rescue operations have been continuing since 2 am and I am in constant touch with the district authorities and other related officials. Owing to the seriousness of the issue, Army has been called.”
