Just three days before Independence day, 265 live cartridges were found along the boundary wall of Kundan Vidya Mandir school in Civil lines area of Ludhiana, Punjab.

Station House Officer, Gurpreet Singh, said cartridges belonged to different types of guns including those which could be used in AK-47 rifle.

The cartridges were found by KVM school’s bus staff when they brought students to school premises at about 8 am on Wednesday morning , police said.

Meanwhile, the principal of the school has notified parents of each student through text messages about their safety. The message was forward to www.jantakareporter.com by a concerned parent of Std. 9 student of the school.

The message read,

“Dear Parent,

This is to certify to all of you that everything in the school campus is safe and there is no need to panic. Some rounds of pistol were found in the KVM lane outside gate no.5. The police administration has everything in control. Kindly do not create panic by coming to collect your wards.

Let us pray and be grateful.

Regards, Principal.”

Auhtorities say they’ve launched a thorough investigation. This comes days after alleged terrorist attack on Dinanagar police station in Gurdaspur, where a Superintendent of Police was killed in gun-battle.
