2200 photos in 24 hours, Kejriwal thanks Delhiites for Swacch Delhi app’s success


Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has thanked Delhiites for their ‘overwhelming response’ to the Swacch Delhi app launched in the capital on Monday.

Thanking the people of Delhi, Kejriwal wrote on his Facebook page, Thank u Delhi 4 huge response. 2200 photos of garbage/ malba recd in less than 24 hrs.(sic)”

Kejriwal on Monday launched ‘Swachh Delhi’ app enabling residents to apprise authorities with pics of garbage, and announced ‘Swachh Delhi Abhiyan’ from November 22 to 30.

He had said, “The mobile application can be downloaded by giving a missed call on the number 7666400400. The user will get a message with the link to download the application.”

“Once you use the application and send us the picture of the garbage, we will automatically get the exact location and the longitude of the place. So, it will be convenient for the residents and local bodies (MCD and PWD) to track the location accurately and clean it,” he added

The Delhi chief minister will also inaugurate the ‘Swachh Delhi Abhiyan’, a cleaniness drive, a joint initiative of the central government, Delhi government and all three muncipal corporations of the city, on 22 November.
