पाकिस्तान के पूर्व क्रिकेटर और दिग्गज स्पिन गेंदबाज अब्दुल कादिर का शुक्रवार को हार्ट अटैक के कारण निधन हो गया। कादिर 67 साल के थे और पाकिस्तान के लिए उन्होंने 67 मैचों में हिस्सा लिया था। टेस्ट में उनके नाम 236 विकेट है। वह पाकिस्तान क्रिकेट बोर्ड (PCB) के मुख्य चयनकर्ता भी रह चुके थे। कादिर अपने एक्शन के कारण डांसिंग बॉलर के नाम से भी बहुत मशहूर हुए थे।
पाकिस्तान क्रिकेट बोर्ड (PCB) ने ट्वीट किया कि पीसीबी महान खिलाड़ी अब्दुल कादिर के निधन की खबर सुनकर सदमे में है और उनके परिवार और दोस्तों के साथ अपनी संवेदनाएं व्यक्त करती है। 67 वर्षीय का जन्म 1955 में लाहौर में हुआ था।

कादिर के निधन पर पूर्व पाकिस्तानी कप्तान वसीम अकरम, मौजूदा कप्तान सरफराज अहमद, पूर्व तेज गेंदबाज शोएब अख्तर, भारतीय ऑफ स्पिनर रविचंद्रन अश्विन, हरभजन सिंह, बल्लेबाज वीवीएस लक्ष्मण और आकाश चोपड़ा ने गहरा शोक जताया है।
पाकिस्तान के पूर्व क्रिकेटर शोएब अख्तर ने ट्विटर पर वीडियो संदेश जारी कर के कादिर को श्रद्धांजलि दी। शोएब ने कहा- “क्रिकेट में लेग स्पिन को दोबारा जिंदा करने का श्रेय पूरी तरह उन्हें जाता है। कादिर ने गेंदबाजों की एक पूरी पीढ़ी को लेग स्पिन बॉलिंग की प्रेरणा दी।’
वहीं अलावा वसीम अकरम ने लिखा, ‘उन्हें कई कारणों से जादूगर कहा जाता था, मगर उन्होंने जब मेरी आंखों में देख कहा कि तुम अगले 20 सालों तक पाकिस्तान के लिए खेलोगे, तो मैंने उन पर भरोसा किया। वे सच में जादूगर थे। अब्दुल कादिर हमें आपकी कमी महसूस होगी, लेकिन हम आपको कभी नहीं भूलेंगे।’
भारतीय क्रिकेटर हरभजन सिंह ने उनके निधन पर ट्वीट कर कहा, अब्दुल कादिर का निधन हैरान करने वाला है। दो साल पहले वह हमेशा की तरह ऊर्जा से भरपूर थे। एक चैंपियन गेंदबाज, महान इंसान, आप हमेशा के लिए याद आएंगे। परिवार के साथ सहानुभूति।’
