Kareena Kapoor Khan has become a top target of Mumbai’s paparazzi after she gave birth to her first child Taimur Ali Khan, who was born on 20 December 2016. Kareena, husband Saif Ali Khan and Taimur are constantly in limelight because of the media glaze for their child. However, not many will know that Kareena once had a crush for Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
This was way back in 2000, soon after her film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, also starring Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Kajol. Kareena had appeared on Simi Grewal’s popular TV show Rendezvous With Simi Garewal in 2002.
Simi had asked, “If you could pick anyone for a date, who would you should?” Pat came Kareena’s reply, “Shall I say this, I don’t know if I should. But I don’t mind it’s controversial. Rahul Gandhi. I’d like to know him. I have been flipping though his pictures in a magazine and wondering what would it be like to have a conversation with him.”
She also went on to explain why she wanted to go on a date with Gandhi, who had yet to make his political debut then. She had said, “I come from a family with a lineage of films and he comes from a family with lineage of politics. So, may be we’d make an interesting conversation.”
Her response had left Simi Grewal in a state of shock, whose facial expression was quite telling. Rahul Gandhi was among the top celebrity guests in 2012, when Saif and Kareena hosted their wedding reception in Delhi.
On work front, Kareena’s next two films will be under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. They are Good News followed by multi-starrer Takht, which also has Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar.
