Veteran Tamil actor and Bollywood director and film actor Kamal Haasan met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat on Friday.
They discussed ideas related to the promotion of the film industry and also to facilitate the shooting process in the capital.
According to government officials, during their half-hour meeting, they discussed the possibilities of making Delhi a better place for shooting films.
Kejriwal said in a statement, “It’s a job intensive industry and we want more shoots to happen in the capital. We are also planning a Film city and a separate body for the industry headed by professionals to make things easier for shoots to happen (here).”
The Vishwaroopam actor also briefed the Delhi CM on the importance of skill development among film workers and the industry’s fast moving technology.
Haasan said that the government should try to ease the facilitation of film shootings in Delhi and also help in getting clearances and permissions smoothly in the Capital.
Kejriwal, while delivering a key note speech at CII on Friday had spoken about the need to remove bureaucratic hurdles for people to organise events in the capital. The Delhi chief minister has spoken about his desire to create a film city in Delhi on many occasions in the past.
