Wedding photos of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh smash social media records

After reportedly enforcing a no-photos policy for their guests, actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh shared the first pics of their wedding on social media on Thursday evening. Both Deepika and Ranveer shared two identical photos with the newly-wed couple looking incredibly happy.

The photos evoked quite a reaction from the Bollywood fraternity with top names rushing to congratulate them. Actor Priyanka Chopra wrote, “Insanely beautiful.” Alia Bhatt reacted with plenty of red hearts and the word ‘Uff.” Katrina Kaif wrote, “Congratulations to both of you.” “Congratulations, you both look gorgeous. Nazar na lage,” was how Shilpa Shetty reacted. Singer Neha Kakkar simply wrote, “OMG.’

As if these messages were not enough, users on Instagram went berserk in showing their appreciation for the photos posted by Deepika and Ranveer. Deepika’s post received one million likes every hour for the first four hours of her posting the exclusive photos. The post had crossed four million likes within the first four hours. This did not include the nearly 2 lakh comments posted by her fans on the two photos.

The two photos showing Ranveer and Deepika looking resplendent in wedding finery were also shared by Ranveer from his social media pages. On Instagram, Ranveer’s post received more than 3.3 million likes and over one lakh comments.

Response to their wedding photos on other platforms such as Twitter and Facebook will take their social media numbers even higher as the couple also shared their wedding photos on these platforms too.

Going by the craze on social media for the couple’s wedding photos, it’s clear that Deepika has outsmarted her husband by establishing that she remained more popular than Ranveer.

The Padmaavat actors got married in Italy’s Lake Como on 14 and 15 November by following traditional Konkani and Sindhi ceremonies. Ever since both tied the knot in Italy, social media users have been eagerly waiting for the wedding photos to emerge. Those holding their breath in anticipation of the wedding pictures of the Padmaavat stars is Union Minister Smriti Irani, who had taken to her Instagram page to express her own frustration when she posted a photo of a skeleton. Her post had read, “#when you have waited for #deepveer #wedding #pics for too longgggg.”
