Union Minister Smriti Irani was recently in the news for allegedly spreading fake news from Amethi while accusing Congress President Rahul Gandhi of booth capturing in the Lok Sabha polls. The controversial BJP politician travelled to Madhya Pradesh to hold election rallies in support of her party, only to be left stunned with hostile responses from the crowd in the state, which was being ruled by the saffron party until last year.
The Madhya Pradesh Congress on Wednesday shared a video of Irani’s speech, made in Ashok Nagar of Madhya Pradesh. In the video, Irani is heard telling her audience, “During the last year’s assembly polls, the Congress had promised to waive off farm loans within 10 days. Did they waive off?”
If Irani was expecting her audience to agree with her, then she was in for a rude shock as the crowd responded by shouting, “Ho Gaya, Ho Gaya (Yes, it’s waived off, it’s waived off).” This led to disruption of Irani’s speech causing a brief break in her speech.
While sharing the speech, the Madhya Pradesh Congress wrote, “Smriti Irani left humiliated…..Now even ordinary public have learnt how to reply to liars on their face. At least now, refrain from spreading lies.”

This follows the decision of the Congress government in the state to hand over the list of 21 lakh farmers whose loans the ruling party said it had waived off to former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
